Kyle Gao

Professionally I’m a technical leader on AI/ML product. I had done academic research in information retrieval and deep learning at Microsoft Research Asia, Carnegie Mellon University and IBM Research. Since then, I’ve been working on applying AI/ML technologies to drug discovery at BenevolentAI and cybersecurity at Abnormal Security. In 2024, I founded Skipper to help users to stay organized with their digital life. In March 2025, I joined Anthropic as a Member of Technical Staff working on Claude. Through these experiences, I have had best-in-class experiences in creating AI-native products and systems.

In my free time, I enjoy cooking, eating good food, photography, reading books, and watching movies & TV shows. I also have a westie named Menka. My wife owns a Pilates studio in downtown Brooklyn. Come visit us!
